This framework ensures disciplinary matters are handled consistently, transparently and in accordance with NZ Rugby rules.
How the Process Works
Red Cards
If a player is sent off, the incident is automatically reviewed through the WRFU judicial processCiting Complaints
Clubs or authorised individuals can submit a citing when foul play may have occurred but was not detected during the matchComplaints & Disputes
Clubs can lodge formal complaints about conduct or match‑related issues through the official formAppeals
If a club or player wishes to appeal a judicial decision, they can do so using the Notice of AppealBlue Card & Serious Injury Tracking
Blue Cards and serious injuries follow a dedicated reporting and review pathway within the same judicial framework
