The Judicial Process outlines how WRFU manages on‑field discipline, citing, complaints, appeals and the administrative flow for Blue Card and serious‑injury incidents.
This framework ensures disciplinary matters are handled consistently, transparently and in accordance with NZ Rugby rules.
How the Process Works
Appeals
If a club or player wishes to appeal a judicial decision, they can do so using through a Notice of AppealBlue Card (Concussion) & Serious Injury Tracking
Concussions and serious injuries follow a dedicated reporting and review pathway within the same judicial frameworkCiting Complaints
Clubs or authorised individuals can submit a citing when foul play may have occurred but was not detected during the matchComplaints & Disputes
Clubs can lodge formal complaints about conduct or match‑related issuesRed Cards
If a player is sent off, the incident is automatically reviewed through the WRFU judicial processReferee Abuse
Any abuse of match officials is unacceptable and must be acted on and reported without delay
