Wellington Rugby and its member clubs has developed a set of rules (WRFU By-Laws) to facilitate the effective delivery of rugby across all competitions and to foster safe, fair and enjoyable rugby experiences for all participants. To support this overall intent Members and all participants are required to adhere to the By-Laws with the spirit of the game in mind. Members and all participants are expected to display honesty and integrity at all times in promoting the true values of the amateur club game.

Presently, Section B of the WRFU By-Laws, the Amateur Code - promotes the amateur rugby code, whereby no member shall financially reward, either directly or indirectly, any individual to play or coach the game at an amateur level.
