Wellington Rugby is saddened to advise the passing of former Wellington Junior Rugby Chairman, Dale Wall, last Sunday, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Dale contributed a great deal of his time to the community game, with Dale being voted Wellington Rugby Junior Volunteer of the Year in 2016.
Dale’s funeral will be held on Friday 21st June at St Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church, Knights Road, Lower Hutt at 10.30am.

Once again, the WRFU is encouraging Senior Club players to connect with their own Junior Clubs by refereeing as many of the Junior Grade games as possible. From Rippa Grades through to U12/U13 Grades, the opportunity to encourage, guide and assist their own club’s junior members is too good an opportunity to pass up!
Over the weekend, the Oriental-Rongotai Premier players had their bye round and were great role models for the Bye Week Referee Initiative. The Premier players were out and about with the photos showcasing the fun had by all! 😄🙌🏾🏉

Congratulations to the players named in the Wellington U19 squad.
All players are to meet at Tawa RFC on Monday 17th June, 6.30pm with training jerseys (not tee), boots, mouthguards, water bottles. The hard work begins now!
After a period of consultation and deliberation, the Wellington Rugby Football Union’s board has approved the removal of under-13 regional representative rugby.
There will now be a concentrated emphasis on skill development for all junior players instead of a select few, a move which has already been made by a number of other provincial unions.
