E Tū Whānau Fronts Lions Jersey
Wellington Rugby Football Union is delighted to announce E Tū Whānau as the front-of-jersey naming rights partner for the Wellington Lions in the 2025 Bunnings Warehouse NPC.
E Tū Whānau is a kaupapa Māori movement that inspires and supports whānau to be safe, strong and prosperous. The kaupapa is grounded in tikanga and Māori values that protect and uplift whānau Māori – Te mana kaha o te whānau!
Keelan Ransfield, E Tū Whānau, Team Leader says, “Ehara tāku toa, I te toa takitahi,
Engari he toa takitini". "Success is not the work of an individual, but the work of many”.
Alongside whānau Māori, E Tū Whānau also supports communities of former refugees and migrants to be active in their communities. The kaupapa is strengths-based, working in partnership with whānau to shape their own futures within which everyone is able to be strong and resilient and we’re honoured to have our tohu on the front of the Wellington Lions jerseys.
WRFU CEO, Tony Giles, says “Having the E Tū Whānau values front and centre on the Lions jersey is special for several reasons. Not only do their values closely align with those of the Lions but showcasing them proudly on the front of the jersey is a unique first for any provincial union.
It’s a powerful reminder of what we stand for as a community. This partnership is about connection, pride, and uplifting the people we represent.”
E Tū Whānau are also supporting the Pride by featuring their logo on the back of jerseys number 7 and 13.
WRFU is working to deliver on E Tū Whānau strategic priorities, using the six E Tū Whānau values to promote change through Tāne ora, Wāhine ora and Rangatahi development.
