The 2026 Club Sevens Series aims to provide an engaging off-season rugby opportunity that builds connection, supports fitness and wellbeing, and strengthens relationships across clubs and our community. The focus is on fun, accessibility and meaningful competitive opportunities.

2026 Series Overview

• Dates:
  • Women (Eleanor Roosevelt Cup): 31 October & 7 November 2026
  • Men (American Ambassadors Cup): 21 November & 28 November 2026
• Venue: Rugby League Park, Newtown
• Games: 5 per team each tournament, based on anticipated team entries
• A two‑tournament series (per grade) designed to maximise participation and provide consistent opportunities for players and teams
• A welcoming entry point for:
  • Players looking to stay conditioned over summer
  • New-to-rugby participants
  • Clubs wanting to create more touchpoints across their community

2026 Series Structure

• Team Estimates: Based on recent team numbers, we anticipate 8 women’s teams and 12 men’s teams
• Format: Pools of four, round-robin > playoffs
• Seeding: Snake seeding across pools
  • Tournament 1: 2025 standings
  • Tournament 2: Tournament 1 standings
• Points System: Win = 4, Draw = 2, Loss = 0
  • Losing by 7 or fewer = 1 bonus point
  • 4+ tries scored = 1 bonus point
