Our BCITO U16 Boys team focuses on developing emerging talent by providing higher-level playing opportunities in a supportive and encouraging environment. The programme plays an important role in promoting long-term engagement in rugby, helping players to refine their skills, deepen their understanding of the game and prepare for future representative honours.

A key feature of their programme is the team’s participation in the Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council (HYRC) Under 16 Boys' Tournament, where they compete in Division A for the prestigious Don Broughton Shield. This tournament brings together all U16 teams in the region, offering players the chance to test themselves against each other in a highly competitive setting. For many, it represents their first taste of representative rugby, providing invaluable experience and exposing them to the intensity and standards required at higher levels.
