The Wellington Pride are preparing to head north to take on Counties Manukau on Sunday in round two of the 2022 Farah Palmer Cup, presented by Bunnings Warehouse.

Head Coach Zak Feaunati has named his team for Sunday’s clash, with just three new additions to last weekend’s run-on side.

Marist St Pats’ Cheyne Copeland gets an opportunity at 10, with last week’s starter Arene Landon-Lane providing impact off the bench.

“Cheyne missed last week's game due to injury but is fit to play and start on Sunday. Cheyne is a very talented rugby player with a solid skill set that will hopefully improve our attacking game from last week,” said Feaunati.

Try scoring machine Ayesha Leti-I’iga, who currently holds the Pride record for the most tries against Counties Manukau, comes into the starting XV on the wing and partners debutant Ofa Tuangalu.

With Jackie Patea-Fereti unavailable for selection, Joanah Ngan-Woo will once again captain the side from lock alongside Te Amohaere Ngata-Aerengamate.

“Jax misses out this weekend due to injury but hopefully she'll be right next week. In saying that Joanah did a great job leading the girls last week,” said Feaunati.

When the two sides last met, Wellington trailed Counties 21-25 with five minutes remaining when Harmony Ioane scored an unconverted try at the 82-minute mark. Wellington won by a single point.

The Wellington Pride take on Counties Manukau this Sunday, 24 July, 2:05PM at Navigation Homes Stadium. Entry is $10 for adults, but kids aged 14 and under are free. The match will be televised live on Sky Sport.
