Wellington are the current holders of the Hurricanes Shield, which is contested every year in the Hurricanes Region. This competition has been going since 2009.
Wellington will compete against Hawkes Bay Saracens, Tasman B, Wairarapa Bush Heartland and Whanganui Heartland, as well as our two local teams - Wellington Māori and Wellington Samoans.
This team has a number of fixtures during the representative season designed to prepare and provide challenge to players who are looking for a spot in the Wellington Lions. Often players from this team will be called up as injury cover, so must be game ready.
