Vacancy: Wellington Football Club Game Development Officer

Wellington Football Club are looking for a self-motivated and driven Game Development Officer to support the development of coaches, players and rugby within our club and catchment area. Wellington Football Club is Wellington’s oldest rugby club, founded in 1870. In 2022, the club will consist of 7 Junior and 5 senior teams.  

A vital part of our club, The Game Development Officer is responsible for delivering the WRFU Community Development & Engagement Plan as well as providing on the ground support for the Club's Junior and Senior teams.  

The role will have a significant community focus through the delivery of rugby programmes and initiatives aimed at engaging traditional and non-traditional participants of all ages, abilities and genders. The Game Development Officer is also responsible for Coach development within the local community through WRFU programmes and regular observations.  

Potential candidates should be highly organised and self-motivated with programme planning experience. The ability to work as part of a team and build a strong rapport with people from a diverse range of backgrounds is essential.  

A sound understanding of the Wellington rugby community, in particular the youth environment would be an advantage. Whilst not essential a coaching background would be preferred. Please note that the role will involve some work outside normal workday hours including evenings and weekends
