Rugby World Cup 2011

There is expected to be at least 60,000, perhaps as many as 85,000 visitors to New Zealand during Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) with many of them visiting Wellington. There will be plenty of sights and sounds for our international visitors to take in, and with 18 rugby clubs in Wellington, plenty of opportunities for people to be hosted and have a unique Rugby experience while they are here.

Wellington will host six pool matches and two quarter-final matches during the RWC 2011. Dates of those matches are as follows:

  • Sunday 11 September – South Africa v Wales
  • Saturday 17 September – South Africa v Fiji
  • Friday 23 September – Australia v USA
  • Sunday 25 September - Argentina v Scotland
  • Saturday 1 October – France v Tonga
  • Sunday 2 October – NZ v Canada
  • Saturday 8 October – QF 1
  • Sunday 9 October – QF 2
