Who was the Skills and Defensive Coach with Tonga at the 2011 Rugby World Cup?
RWC 2011
What better way to summarise the success of RWC to New Zealand than to quote this letter from Sunday Star Times (6 November 2011):
"Having visited New Zealand for the first time, to watch the RWC, I would like to pay tribute to your countrymen. I am so glad the All Blacks won, but the real winners were the four million Kiwis who put on a terrific cup."

Wellington FOR EVERYONE Secondary School 7's Tournament
Naenae College hosted the inaugural Wellington Schools FOR EVERYONE 7's Competition on Labour Day. The event is part of the BNZ Condor 7's series which will see St Patricks College Silverstream represent Wellington/Wairarapa at the National event in Auckland on 4 December.
Silverstream College were dominant in beating Naenae (40-0), Newlands (19-0), Taita (28-0) and then Wellington College (17-10) in the final to take out the Christian Cullen Cup.
The event showcased rugby 7's as a battle of skill, fitness and attrition. Successful teams showed outstanding talent and skills, but when finals came around it was evident that a high level of base fitness was needed to cement a winning performance.
The girls' competition was dominated by current 15-a-side champions Aotea, who were solid throughout the day, but had to defend a strong last minute challenge from Upper Hutt College. The heart-stopping second half ended in a 12-10 victory to Aotea. In the Plate Final, Porirua College beat Naenae 12-7 and St Patricks College Town, before producing a great winger's try in extra time to beat Mana 15-10 to clinch the Bowl.
The event showed the huge potential 7's rugby has, and the excitement that can be generated through a one-day competition. With 7's being included in the Rio Olympics in 2016, there is every chance that some of the stars from the local FOR EVERYONE Wellington 7's tournament will be seeking a place in the Olympic team.

Living Legends
Close to 85,000 native trees and shrubs were planted around New Zealand during RWC 2011. Thanks to more than 3,500 volunteers who joined the Living Legends team, helping to dig, plant and protect many native species in, at times, some pretty atrocious weather - we had some wind, a little bit of snow, some sunshine, and a lot of rain!
Planning for 2012 is already well underway. Keep an eye out on www.livinglegends.co.nz and www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.214516278603575.61144.170802279641642&type=1 for the 2012 planting schedule. We hope to have many of our Rugby Legends back with us next year, and we'd love you to join us also. Living Legends is a five-year project, with the first three years (2011-2013 inclusive) focused on planting, and 2014 and 2015 focused on the continued maintenance and protection of our sites.
Living Legends would like to also thank our wonderful sponsors who were instrumental in making Living Legends 2011 such a success. Thank you to Project Crimson, The Tindall Foundation, DOC and Meridian Energy.
Emerging Players Selection
The Emerging Players for U14-U18 have been announced, with names available at:
Some 25 players for each age group will commence training with some of Wellington's best rugby coaches who will help with their game development.
U14 & U15 Development
The Wellington Rugby U14 & U15 development week was completed just before Labour Weekend. A total of 138 players from colleges all over Wellington attended from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 October. Teams were made up from the three regions for both age bands - Hutt Valley, Wellington City and Western Bays - supported by our heartland brothers Wairarapa Bush U14, and Horowhenua-Kapiti U15.
All eight teams trained at Evans Bay Park from Monday to Wednesday covering individual skills, live training scenarios, team trainings and also a presentation from WRFU Trainer Mark Bradshaw on hydration and nutrition. The WRFU CCO network was responsible for coaching during the week, with Wellington Lions player Brad Shields also attending and helping these developing players.
Thursday had all teams playing at Te Whaea to wrap up a wonderful week. The aim was to help the players apply what they had learnt during the week.
After each game, a MVP award for each team was given to a player who had contributed during the training and game, and also an all-round team player was identified. These awards were presented by WRFU staff members whose hard work for our young players is often not apparent.
