The Petone Rugby Club is one of the most recognised clubs both in New Zealand and globally. We have a strong history of success, evidenced by the number of titles we have won in the Premier and Club championships, and the number of former players and coaches who are currently at representative levels in New Zealand and globally.

As a Club we are proud of our history, and we are now looking to the future to ensure it matches this success. To enable us to do this we are seeking an experienced Club Coaching Coordinator (CCO) who can share this vision with us.

The CCO's main responsibilities will consist of:

  • Recruiting and upskilling players and coaches for up to 10 Senior Club teams for future seasons.
  • Supporting the continued success of the Junior Club, through development of coaches and coaching skills.
  • Facilitating the return of players to the Club after secondary school, using tools such as the Links programme (former Junior Club players) and facilitating a holiday programme during the season.
  • Supporting the success of our Ken Gray Academy, by identifying and recruiting young and talented players.

The role will also consist of a component dedicated to deliver on Wellington Rugby Football Union objectives. These activities are based on the principle of promoting rugby to the community; local schools with coaching development and support, as well as encouraging participation and player numbers through various rugby tournaments.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their experience through an extensive rugby background attaining qualifications in coaching (preferably New Zealand qualifications). They will also ideally evidence proven experience in leading, managing, and organising people and be highly self motivated.

Our values at the Petone Rugby Club are Pride, Respect, Fair Play and Courage - and our CCO will need to be leading by example; encouraging both players and coaches to live these values, as well as personally demonstrating a high level of integrity in their actions.
