Nominees for the 2010 Wellington Rugby Tui Awards have been announced.  Congratulations to all for a fantastic year!

Winners will be announced at the Tui Awards on the 10th of November.

Club Coach of the Year

Awarded to recognise outstanding coaching achievement during the 2010 club rugby season.

 

Ø      Frank Rees (Northern United RFC Premiers)

Ø      Andrew Robinson (Marist St Pats RFC Blues)

Ø      Bob Selkirk (Johnsonville RFC Senior Three)

Ø      Bon Uriaro (Hutt Old Boys Marist RFC U19)

 

Club Team of the Year

Awarded to recognise outstanding achievement by a team during the 2010 club rugby season.

 

Ø      Northern United RFC Premier

Ø      Marist St Pats RFC Under 85kg Blues

Ø      Hutt Old Boys Marist RFC

 

Women's Player of the Year

Awarded to the most outstanding player in Wellington women's rugby during 2010.

 

Ø      Rebecca Mahoney (Eketahuna RFC, Black Ferns)

Ø      Claire Rowat (College Old Boys-Victoria University RFC)

Ø      Sanita Levave (Northern United RFC)

 

Most Promising Player of the Year

This award recognises the player in a Wellington club and/or representative rugby team showing the most promise/potential during the 2010 season.

 

Ø      Julian Savea (Oriental Rongotai FC)

Ø      TJ Perenara (Northern United RFC)

Ø      Lima Sopoaga (College Old Boys - Victoria University RFC)

Ø      Brad Shields (Petone RFC)                                                                                  

 

The Dominion Post WRFU Volunteer of the Year

This award recognises an outstanding contribution by a Wellington rugby volunteer.

 

Ø      Mike Mitchell (Rimutaka RFC)

Ø      Barry Smith (Marist St Pats RFC)

Ø      Kelley Clifton (Avalon)

 

Referee of the Year

Awarded to the best performing Wellington referee officiating at club level and who may also be officiating at either Heartland Championship or ITM Cup level.

Ø      Hamish Mexted

 

Representative Coach of the Year

Awarded to recognise outstanding coaching achievement during the 2010 representative rugby season

 

Ø      Chris Wells (Under 18 Representative)

Ø      Justin Wilson (Under 13)

 

Representative Team of the Year

Awarded to recognise outstanding achievement by a team during the 2010 representative rugby season.

 

Ø      Under 18 Representative Team

Ø      Under 13 Representative Team

Ø      Vodafone Wellington Lions

 

Tui Player of the Year

Awarded to the most outstanding Vodafone Wellington Lions player who has best embraced all aspects of the team ethos, both on and off the field during 2010.
